Our She RA programme is in full swing, the latest element was an Alumni talk by one of our former students Rose Dyson. Rose presented her journey from Year 10 to becoming Founder and Creator of Pura Cosmetics. There are more activities planned to engage the group, build confidence and learn new skills.
On Wednesday 27th February our Year 11 “Made in Barnsley” students graduated from the 3 year “Better Learner Better Workers” Programme. Congratulations to our Under 13 Boys who won the South Yorkshire Indoor Cricket Championships. They won all of their group games against Meadowhead, Wickersley and Ecclesfield before beating Silverdale. A great team performance progresses us to the Yorkshire Finals on Friday 8th March at Headingley.
Congratulations to our girls footballers who won a seven-a-side footballer tournament at Oakwell, winning 6 out of the 7 matches played. They played in their new shirts kindly sponsored by Wyatt Coaches.
Massive congratulations to our Under 16 Girls Football Team. They won their English schools semi-final 2-1 against a very talented Groby Community College from Leicester despite falling behind. The game was played in great spirit and was a great advertisement for girls football. We now await the winners of the second semi-final.
All year 7 students were given the opportunity to become an ambassador for the year group. This morning Mrs Malson & Mr Irving were proud to celebrate the 22 successful applicants. We look forward to keeping you updated with the positive work they do in and around the college.

Well Done to the 9 students who graduated from the Brilliant Club project. Each student was tasked with writing a 2000 word essay, and reporting to their PHD tutor about their research and their essay. Special mention to Alfie and Sam, both achieving a first on their essay.
Congratulations to our U16 Girls football team who won their English Schools quarter final 5-2 against a very talented Greenbank High School. Every member of the team played their part in what was a great team performance. Well done girls.
