Year 10 School Hub

Welcome to the Year 10 School Webpage. This page has been designed to support you in accessing key information regarding your child during the course of this academic year.

The Year 10 School has a manta of #BringOnTheGreat which is derived from the success of Team GB at the Olympic Games. Our slogan embodies everything that we want Year 10 students to become from embracing the core values to become positive role models both inside and outside of school, through to challenging themselves in every lesson, every day. Year 10 is a #YearOfOpportunity given that students have started out on their GCSE courses and now have the chance to lay down good foundations to ensure success in Summer 2022, through to the rich and diverse range of opportunities available as part of our Careers and Enterprise programme in Year 9 including University visits and the ‘I Know I Can’ challenge of setting up and running a business. Participation and volunteering for these opportunities ensures students are not only School ready but also Work Ready and Life Ready.

Our Charity

Year 10 are supporting the Barnsley Churches Drop-in Project which runs sessions 3 times a week providing hot and cold food and drinks to the homeless within our community. Peter Mulrooney was invited into school as a guest speaker to tell students about the work the project does within Barnsley and to explain how we as a school could help. Our first fundraising project was the Christmas Hamper appeal to help people who find themselves homeless over the winter period. The Year 10 Student Ambassadors are planning a range of fundraising activities throughout the rest of the academic year as well as arranging visits for students to help out at the centre.
