Year 10 students follow a broad and balanced curriculum of English, Maths, Science, History or Geography, Religious Education, Citizenship and Physical Education. Alongside these subjects students will also study their GCSE or Vocational option choices with some students continuing with a Modern Foreign Language as part of their option choices.

During the academic year, students have the opportunity to celebrate their success and achievements.

Year 10 are supporting the Barnsley Churches Drop-in Project which runs sessions 3 times a week providing hot and cold food and drinks to the homeless within our community. Peter Mulrooney was invited into school as a guest speaker to tell students about the work the project does within Barnsley and to explain how we as a school could help. Our first fundraising project of the year will be the Christmas Hamper appeal to help people who find themselves homeless over the winter period. The Year 10 Student Ambassadors are planning a range of fundraising activities throughout the rest of the academic year as well as arranging visits for students to help out at the centre.
