On Monday 29th January as part of our National Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration we worked alongside the Refugee Council and Amnesty International to do a question and answer session. 30 keen Historians from Years 8, 9 and 10 attended a one hour session in the theatre where they heard about the work of Amnesty International and the Refugee Council and the roles of the organisation, as part of the session students also got to hear from 2 refugees who told their own personal stories of genocide in their country of birth. The students showed impeccable behaviour and the high quality questions and contributions they made were a credit to them. We would like to say thank you to our visitors for giving up their time.
