Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you and your families are well.
You will have heard about the Government’s plan to slowly start to re-open schools from 1 June. In secondary schools, this re-opening will only involve Year 10 in the first instance. Please use the links below to read the Government advice about reopening that has been published so far.
The key issue for us as a school is to decide what “some face-to-face support to supplement the remote education of Year 10… students” means in the context of Horizon, whilst also meeting the government’s aim that “The safety of children and staff is our utmost priority”.
I greatly appreciate your continued support with the work we have been setting to ensure that your child’s education has not been unnecessarily compromised. Thank you for the positive messages you have sent regarding this.
Can I ask you to work with us a little longer, in order to give us time to develop a plan that will meet both of the Government’s aims outlined above. What we have been doing so far in school for the small group of students who have needed to attend has worked really well and we do not want to increase numbers until we have put a clear plan in place.
We will be back in touch with you during the next week or so with details.
However, please be aware that, whatever we put into place, we will not be able to completely control any risk and whilst we will reduce this risk as much as we can by following the Government and other guidance, it will not be zero.
Thank you once again; I will be in touch soon.
Kind regards
Mrs Huddart
